“My boat exceeded my highest expectations. We met the people that were involved in the design and making of Hyde’s prettiest boat. I was so touched by the pride and talent that each one of them had. They have a commitment to excellence and their workmanship shows it. They truly made me a custom boat that has everything I asked for. I couldn’t love it more than I do.”

For years, my life’s passion (next to my family) was mogul skiing. Several years ago, that changed when Tom, the man in my life, took me fly fishing. Shortly after, I found myself in a sporting goods store buying everything necessary for a day on the river.

My first experience in a drift boat was in a Hyde on the Platte River in Wyoming. I loved floating down the river but was very intrigued by the rowing aspects. Three years ago, Tom and I enrolled in a guide school in Idaho. I so enjoyed rowing the boat that when we returned to Colorado, we bought a used Hyde from a local guide. I’m now a Certified Orvis Endorsed Guide and have hundreds of miles of rowing experience on rivers from Montana to Colorado. Unless the fishing is phenomenal, I’d rather row. I’ve hit a few rocks but my Hyde Boat is doing well.

Two years ago, I went back east to Lew Beach, New York where I had the privilege of spending four days with Joan Wulff. I attended her Instructors Only casting school. I am now certified in the Wulff School of Fly Fishing and teach the Wulff method of casting.

I am currently designing and manufacturing a line of women’s fly fishing clothing. I will have a booth at several fly fishing shows across the country. I’m very excited about the unique opportunity I have to involve more women and children in the sport. I can teach them, dress them, interest them in women’s fishing art and board them at my home in Keystone that I also run as a lodge.
