I have been rowing a Hyde Drift Boats since 1995 (two years prior to launching my guiding career). I currently row a Low Profile. It is the ultimate boat for mid-western river fishing. I am in my boat roughly 250 days per year, about 170 of these days are spent guiding. It is definitely safe to say that my office takes some abuse especially between the boat launches and dirt roads. My boat and trailer have seen a lot. I tell my clients my Hyde is the Cadillac of drift boats. In these smaller rivers it is necessary to constantly think ahead to avoid debris, rocks, and fisherman. My Hyde has never let me down.

It is small yet versatile, allowing clients and myself effortless entry and exit. It is a very light metal boat, which makes it easy for me to maneuver. It is extremely difficult to find a light aluminum boat on the market. For anglers who have ventured upon the Pere Marquette River and experienced the level of difficulty at many boat launches, it is easy to appreciate the light weight of an aluminum Hyde.

During the winter steelhead months, my Hyde becomes a comfortable oven, for I mount heaters in the bow and stern to keep my clients cozy and comfortable since we all know how cold it gets in Northern Michigan.

During the nine years I have owned a Hyde, I have developed a strong confidence for Hyde Boats and their capabilities. I strongly recommend them for their dependability, strong craftsmanship and durability.
