The Hyde drift Boat is like having the right tool for the job. If you are out fishing on the big rivers of the west then then you want to be in a boat that is easy to row, stable, and safe. Any other boat will not suffice and handel the demanding situations of these western rivers. When you step into a Hyde you know that you are in a boat that is going to last and preform to make you day of rowing on the water much easier. Hyde is the only boat I will ever own. Clients like fishing from them and I love rowing one.

I started guiding six years ago for an outfitter called Sac Outfitters based out of Redding California.

I started guiding six years ago for an outfitter called Sac River Outfitters based out of Redding California. When I started guiding I was working to help put myself through college. Once I graduated in 2006 I decided to go independent and work for myself. The last three years in California I have been an independent guide working for myself. In 2008 I guided 150+ days on the water and in 2009 I am going to do 180+. Hopefully this will continue to increase in 2010. While in California I guide for trout and steelhead.

The winter of 2006 I decided to apply to an array of different outfitters on the South Fork of the Snake so I could start guiding in Idaho for the summer. Mike Bean, from The Lodge at Palisades Creek, hired me and I have been working for the lodge every summer since. I just completed my third summer with TLAPC and plan on going back in 2010. When I started at the Lodge I was ninth in the seniority list and now as of this last summer was 5th. This summer I guided 57 days on the South Fork.

This spring of 2009 I started a 501©(3) nonprofit organization called Cast Hope. Cast Hope is a fly fishing nonprofit that takes at-risk underprivileged youth and their families fly fishing for the day. The goal of Cast Hope is to create a situation where kids and their mentors can have a bonding experience through fly fishing. Cast Hope is serving the father/son, mother/daughter, grandfather/grandson, and metor/mentee relationships. We are taking kids and their mentors out on the boat and teaching them how to fly fish, the proper way to cast, how to set the hook, the entomology of the river, and the gentle ecosystem that we have been given. We are showing the fisherman of tomorrow that we have a responsibility to take care of our natural resources. By June of 2010 Cast Hope is going to take 60 youth and their mentors out on the river for a free day of fly fishing. If you want more information then please refer to www.casthope.org. On the website you can find a promotional video, additional information, and ways to help out.
