Alec has spent a lifetime fly fishing the waters of the Mountain West. He got his start in the industry working in fly shops, learning the craft from the ground up while spending more days on the water than he probably should have. Whether it’s technical trout sipping dries on a spring creek or stalking tailing carp on muddy flats, Alec doesn’t discriminate—if it eats a fly, he’s making a cast.
He’s most at home in a drift boat alongside his wife, Madison, where the two have become a dialed-in and relentless team on the river. These days, some of his favorite moments on the water include sharing that passion with their daughter and passing on a love for the outdoors to the next generation.
When the seasons shift, Alec trades his fly rod for a shotgun, spending fall and winter hunting and training his Deutsch Kurzhaars, Cody and Kaycee, both of whom have earned top honors in hunt tests.
