I began my relationship with LaMoyne Hyde and the crew at Hyde Drift Boat Company in 1990 after years of experimenting and working from a series of different boats. Frustrated with the limitations that these boats offered, we set out to find the right drift boat that would fit the needs of our guiding operations. We needed a quality boat that would stand up to the daily abuse and harsh environment of our Pacific Northwest Rivers.”
“After rowing the Hyde, the decision was easy. The design and comfort level for the rower as well as the ease of rowablity is what sets the Hyde Drift Boat apart from the competition. For us, the drift boat is a tool, working from the boat day in and day out. We can't afford not to have the best. We demand it and so do our guests. That's why we choose Hyde.
Worley Bugger Fly Co. was founded over a decade ago in the small agricultural community of Ellensburg, Washington by owner and operator, Steve Worley. Our mission was simple; provide the best quality service and the set the highest standard of excellence in the industry. Worley Bugger Fly Co retains the most experienced, professional fly fishing team in Central Washington.
Steve’s experience with fly fishing began at a young age, while growing up in the mining city of Butte, Montana. Strong family relationships and bonds were developed along the rivers of Southwestern Montana. Fishing was always a part of our life whether we were fly fishing the Salmon Fly hatch on the Big Hole River, exploring high mountain lakes or standing on six inches of frozen ice over the Jefferson River. There is not a time in my life I can’t recall when fishing wasn’t an interracial part of my childhood. Now my family and I have been blessed to share in a sport for which I have a strong love and passion for and make it a part of our daily life in the Yakima River Valley.
The Yakima River is our home water, keeping us busy throughout most of the year. The fertile aquatic catch and release waters of the upper Yakima offer fly fishermen over seventy miles of world class rainbow trout fishing. The Lower Yakima is gaining world wide acceptance as one of the premier Smallmouth Bass fisheries in the country. Wild steelhead streams like the Klickitat and Methow known for its prolific runs of these andromous sea migrating rainbows, are also a complex part of our guiding operations throughout the season. Privately owned still water fisheries, desert oasis and spring creeks as well as high mountain streams keep the team at Worley Bugger busy on a year round basis.
Steve carefully balances his busy schedule during the season by managing a fly shop and the guiding operations, guiding across Central Washington, maintaining the extensive Worley Bugger Fly Co. website, and spending time with his family. He also serves as a regional representative of the Wild Steelhead Coalition; a Washington State based organization whose members strive toward the preservation and protection of all wild steelhead.
